Privacy

A directory does not need your identity.

BTU Graph can be browsed without an account or providing an email address. The optional update-list form is the only place it asks for one. Its correction composer prepares an email entirely in your browser and does not submit the form to BTU Graph.

Effective date: October 4, 2026

Site delivery

BTU Graph is hosted on Cloudflare. Like other web infrastructure, Cloudflare may process request information such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp, security signals, and response status to deliver, protect, cache, and troubleshoot the site. Cloudflare's own terms and privacy notice govern its processing.

Audience measurement

With your consent, BTU Graph uses PostHog for privacy-conscious, aggregate measurement of page views, acquisition campaigns, directory searches, filters, profile clicks, scroll depth, and Oil Price API callouts. PostHog receives no names, email addresses, search text, form contents, account identifiers, or session recordings. We disable autocapture, person profiles, IP storage, surveys, and replay. Without consent, these browser analytics do not load.

Separately, the BTU Graph server counts page views and Oil Price API callout clicks as anonymous edge events in PostHog. Each event carries the page path, referring site, country, and content surface, plus a random identifier generated for that single event. No cookie or local storage is set, no IP address or user agent is sent, and events are not linked to each other or to a person. Requests that send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, and recognisable crawlers, are not counted as page views.

Cloudflare also processes aggregate request and performance signals to deliver, protect, cache, and troubleshoot the site. BTU Graph does not use an advertising pixel or sell browsing activity.

Update list

If you submit the update-list form, BTU Graph sends your email address, the page you subscribed from, and your browser's user agent to Oil Price API, which publishes BTU Graph and stores the address to send updates when BTU Graph publishes new material, at most one email a week. BTU Graph keeps no copy. PostHog receives only an anonymous event with the email domain, never the address. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask for deletion at support@oilpriceapi.com.

Correction composer

The correction form does not post its contents to BTU Graph, call a submission API, or use local or session storage. Its small browser script turns the three fields into a mailto: draft. No correction text leaves the page until you choose to open and send that draft through your email application.

If you send the email, your email provider and the Oil Price API support inbox process the message under their respective terms. Do not include confidential, personal, or account information in a correction request.

Oil Price API links

When a reader uses a labeled Oil Price API callout, BTU Graph routes the click through a first-party redirect. The redirect adds standard campaign parameters and a random click identifier to the Oil Price API signup URL and records the originating content surface. The event does not contain an email address, name, or BTU Graph account because BTU Graph has no account system.

Oil Price API's privacy policy applies after a reader visits Oil Price API or creates an account there.

Private research inputs

Aggregated organization-domain patterns from Oil Price API may be used privately to prioritize BTU Graph research. They are not shipped in the public graph, not used to label organizations as customers, and not exposed on directory pages. Public profiles require independent public evidence.
